SPOKANE — Authorities are investigating the discovery 10 days ago of an improvised explosive device next to the Thomas S. Foley U.S. Courthouse in downtown Spokane.
The public was not alerted to the bomb until The Spokesman-Review newspaper inquired about it today.
Tom Rice, a spokesman for the U.S. Attorney’s office, said the device was located in the late evening of March 28, a Sunday. He said the public was not notified because officials did not want to compromise the investigation.
No arrests have been made, and Rice would not provide other details.
