3A District 1
Everett 3, Ferndale 1: At Bellingham, solid defense sparked the Seagulls (5-11-1), who got goals from Matt Overstreet (Stefan Mueller assist) in the 8th minute; from Mueller on a penalty kick in the 21st minute and Eric Ofori (Tyler West assist) in the 80th minute. Tanner Jelinek was in goal for Everett.
Glacier Peak 7, Sedro-Woolley 0: At Snohomish, Brian Holguin and Jackson Miller each scored two goals to lead the Grizzlies. Holquin opened up the scoring with a goal in the 6th minute and then followed up with one in the 21st minute on a Jackson Miller assist to make it 3-0. Miller scored the Grizzlies’ second goal of the game in the 18th minute (Shane Miller assist) and then added one later in the 32nd minute. Glacier Peak’s other goals came from Gregor Proost in the 25th minute (Holquin assist), Robin Hyrciuk in the 38th minute (Holquin assist) and Joey Cheff (Kyle Bjornethun assist) in the 41st minute. Andrew Weakly and Jesus Mendoza combined on the shutout for Glacier Peak, each playing a half in goal.
Shorecrest 6, Lynnwood 0: At Shoreline, own goals by Lynnwood in the seventh minute and 35th minute put them behind 2-0 and the Royals never recovered. Shorecrest’s Eli Blauser added two goals in the second half, one in the 45th minute (Erik Bracht assist) and the other in the 56th minute (Hiei Rose assist). In the 60th minute, Maoulay Adjorlolo scored his first goal of the season (Travis Schade assist) and Ian Adams scored in the 68th minute for Shorecrest. Eric Baker and Sam Schober combined on the shutout for the Scots.
1A District 1 Playoffs
King’s 3, Meridian 1: At Mt. Vernon, Trevor Bartels scored right out of the gate (Nick Swanson assist) to give King’s an early 1-0 lead. Meridian, however, answered immediately with a goal in the second minute from about 30 yards out. Swanson made it 2-1 in the seventh minute off a Jacob Hauser assist and Gunnar Ildhuso scored in the 50th minute (Ryan Gamache assist) to give the Knights the insurance they needed for the win. Matt Matysik was in goal for King’s, which advances to state.
