STANWOOD — Officials are on the hunt for information regarding a suspected arson Monday morning at Lake Goodwin Community Park.

A passerby reported the fire about 6:30 that morning. Marysville firefighters responded to find flames engulfing much of the play structure and the bark underneath.

The fire caused about $100,000 in damage, scorching wood, plastic and metal, county officials said. In November, an arson at a county park at Lake Stevens led to an offender paying $34,788.62 in restitution.

County officials ask that anyone with information about the Lake Goodwin fire call 911 or 800-55-ARSON.

A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the prosecution of the person responsible for the fire.
