Prep Roundup: M-P scores comeback win in volleyball

EVERETT — The Marysville-Pilchuck volleyball team dropped its first game, but rebounded for a 3-1 Western Conference North Division win over Everett Monday night at Everett High School.

After falling 20-25 in the first game, the Tomahawks (4-0 league, 7-3 overall) took three-straight games for a 20-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-14 win on the road.

Everett drops to 2-1 in conference play (5-4 overall) and M-P remains just one of two Wesco North teams with undefeated conference records. Monroe, the other unbeaten squad at 3-0, was idle Monday.

Katie Peterson had 28 digs to lead M-P and Makiya Nelson added nine kills.

Mackenzie Banta had 31 assists and 15 digs for Everett and Emily Liger added 17 kills and 14 digs.

Jody Barhanovich led the Seagulls with 24 digs.

Also for M-P, setter Riley Taitingfong dished out 20 assists, Alisha Oden had eight kills and four blocks, Aidda Cardo had 15 digs, five kills and three assists, Samantha Minning had four kills and Alexis Fitzmaurice had 15 assists.

Lake Stevens 3, Snohomish 2: At Snohomish, Brooke Dalgleish had 32 digs and Lebreah Skeldon added 18 assists to lead Lake Stevens to a 20-25, 25-16, 25-21, 25-27, 15-13 Wesco North league win. Marchelle Bostic added 14 kills and 17 assist for the Vikings (3-1 league, 6-4 overall). Megan Rice had 20 kills and 19 digs, Karla Nelson had 47 assist and 12 digs and Karissa Lamphere added 23 digs for Snohomish (1-2, 2-6).

Stanwood 3, Oak Harbor 0: At Stanwood, Sarah Titus had 12 digs to help lead Stanwood to a 25-19, 25-16, 25-15 Wesco North league win. Kaci Jones added nine kills and 12 assist for Stanwood (1-2 league, 5-4 overall). Kelsey Terrazas-Cooley had 17 digs and four service aces for Oak Harbor (1-3, 3-6).

Cascade 3, Arlington 0: At Arlington, junior Chelsea Nelson had 12 assists and seven blocks and senior Kaitie Brush added six blocks and nine kills to lead Cascade to a 30-28, 25-23, 25-10 Wesco North league win. Michelle Ruiz had nine assists, Danielle Love had five blocks and six kills and Esther No added four digs for the Bruins (1-3 league, 1-8 overall). Megan Abdo had 29 assist and Kirstin Wright added 18 digs for Arlington (0-4, 2-8).
