New Seahawks uniforms coming Tuesday

For a while now there has been a buzz about what kind of changes the Seahawks are making to their uniforms in 2012, and now the wait is almost over. We should find out what Seattle’s new uniforms look like soon with Nike, which is taking over the league’s merchandising having out-bid Reebok, set to unveil them Tuesday morning in New York.
Now I have a confession to make, unlike a lot of people out there, I haven’t spent a whole lot of energy worrying about what changes may or may not be coming to Seattle’s uniforms. Am I curious to see what they’ll look like? Absolutely. Would I love to see a return to something closer to what the Seahawks wore before changing uniforms a decade ago? You bet (Bring back the silver helmets!). But I’m sorry, I just not the type to spend weeks speculating about the Seahawks’ possible uniform changes. OK. grouchy rant over, now that we’re less than 24 hours from the unveiling, I suppose it’s time to pay attention, even if you’re a curmudgeon like me.
While nothing official has been announced, it has long been rumored that the Seahawks are one of the few teams expected to make significant changes. That seems to indeed be the case considering that Nike now has gear for 31 teams available on the league’s website, but nothing for the Seahawks.
Last week, receiver Mike Williams wrote on Twitter that the team’s new uniforms are “Icccccee cold” (that’s right, five Cs. Sounds pretty darn cold to me). He also wrote that he would put Seattle’s new alternate uniforms “up against any uniform in any league.”.
Also worth noting is that Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor is in New York, and Tweeted that he’s participating in Tuesday’s unveiling.
The unveiling is suppose to happen early Tuesday, likely before 9 a.m., so get yourself in front of a computer early if you’re dying to see what changes are in store for 2012.
