Spokane police recover stolen mail

SPOKANE — About 1,000 pieces of mail stolen from hundreds of people in Eastern Washington and northern Idaho have been recovered in Spokane.

Police had been investigating the thefts since a woman reported seeing a car with two men and two women stealing from mailboxes on May 24.

According to court documents, the thieves stole mail hoping to find cash inside of graduation cards.
