EVERETT — A firefighter injured his back while extinguishing a residential fire Friday night.
Crews worked to douse an attic fire at 11 p.m. in the 3400 block of Oakes Avenue. The flames quickly spread from the attic to the rest of the house. Firefighters remained outside because of dangerous conditions in the building. One of the firefighters slipped and hurt his back.
No other injuries were reported.
No additional information about the firefighter or his condition was available Saturday afternoon, Fire Marshal Rick Robinson said. It is unclear how the fire started and how much damage was done to the home.
More information will be available early next week, Robinson said.
