Granite Falls pitcher named WIAA athlete of the week

Earlier this week, the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association announced that Lauren Harding, a senior pitcher on the Granite Falls softball team, was selected as one of the WIAA Athletes of the Week for achievements in her sports.
The WIAA recognizes a male and a female athlete of the week each week from all six of the classifications.
Harding led the Tigers to a 14-2 victory over Anacortes in the first game of the season, giving up just five hits and striking out 13 batters. At the plate, she added a two-run home run to cap off a seven-run seventh inning for the Tigers.
