County exec candidates to speak to 1st District Democrats Monday

The two Democratic candidates for Snohomish County executive will face questions in a forum at a meeting of the 1st Legislative District Democrats Monday in Bothell.

The Democratic candidates for county executive are incumbent county Executive John Lovick and County Council Chairman Dave Somers.

The meeting at the International Union of Operating Engineers Hall, 18701 120th Ave. N.E., begins at 7 p.m., following dinner at 6. District Democratic Chairman Dan Willner said Wednesday that he expects the forum to start at about 7:30.

Lovick and Somers will be on the Aug. 4 primary ballot along with Republicans Norm Nunnally and Robert Sutherland and independent James Robert Deal, with the top two vote getters, regardless of party, advancing to the Nov. 3 general election.

Willner said that the meeting may include endorsements for some local races on the 2015 ballot. The agenda also includes reports from several local elected officials and from 1st District Democratic officials.

The 1st Legislative District includes most of Mountlake Terrace, all of Brier and Bothell, unincorporated areas of Snohomish County north and east of Bothell, part of Kirkland and unincorporated areas of King County between Bothell and Kirkland.
