EVERETT — Shorecrest advanced to the District 1 2A championship match with a win over Archbishop Murphy and assured their spot in the state tournament.
“Our motto this year has been ‘play for today, one game at a time’”, Scots coach Mindy Dalziel said. “We held a good team to zero shots on goal and no corner kicks, so it was a team effort on defense tonight. “Last year at state we had two District 1 teams in the state final and it may be that way again this year. But first we are focused on next Saturday night.”
Sophia Viviano avoided several defenders with her second goal and that highlight play sealed the win for the Scots.
