Talk about Edmonds schools: There is an opportunity to meet with Edmonds School District Superintendent Nick Brossoit through his series of parent and community meetings. A Nov. 17 meeting was canceled because of a wind storm and power outages. The meeting has been rescheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at Edmonds-Woodway High School, 7600 212th St. SW. Staff plan to offer a live video stream of the meeting at www.edmonds.wednet.edu/ESDlive.

Coffee in the city: The city of Mountlake Terrace plans a coffee event from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Recreation Pavilion, 5303 228th St. SW. Everyone is invited to come talk to city leaders about what’s happening in Mountlake Terrace. More info: 425-744-6206.

Also, the city’s annual Tree Lighting Ceremony is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Playfield, 22205 56th Ave. W. The free event includes a concert by Mountlake Terrace Elementary and Terrace Park Elementary students and a visit from Santa. The tree is made up from more than 1,800 lights on a frame. There will be cookies, coffee and cocoa. Everyone should dress for cold, wet weather. Donations are encouraged for the Michelle Ringler Youth Recreation Scholarship Fund, which is part of Recreation Pavilion programs. For more information, call 425-776-9173.

Granite Falls tree lighting: The annual tree lighting is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday at the Granite Falls Historical Museum, 109 E. Union St. The event includes live music, a visit from Santa Claus, refreshments and prizes for a holiday hat contest. All are welcome.
