Human remains found near Kayak Point

WARM BEACH — Human remains were found Wednesday along 140th Street NW, near Kayak Point south of Stanwood. The remains were found by hikers between Marine Drive and Kayak Point Road, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.

The county Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the person’s name and cause of death. The road was expected to be closed in that area most of the day, Ireton said. No other details were made public Thursday.
