STANWOOD — The reopening of Highway 532 just west of I-5 at exit 212 has been pushed back a day.
Crews have been working this week to replace a fish culvert on Secret Creek that runs under the highway. The highway is closed, with signed detours for people traveling to or from Stanwood and Camano Island.
Instead of Friday at 5 a.m., the highway is expected to reopen at 5 a.m. Saturday.
Workers are putting in a 40-foot-deep, 195-foot-long trench for the culvert and then rebuilding the highway. It’s a $3.27 million project.
The detours that are in place now are expected to continue until the work is complete.
