How to get text alerts for I-90 Snoqualmie Pass closures
Published 1:30 am Sunday, October 16, 2016
Do you frequently cross I-90 to get east of the Cascades?
The Washington State Department of Transportation offers a new text messaging service to help drivers stay updated on closures for rock blasting and avalanche control, as well as major collisions, heavy snow forecast events, pass closures and other incidents that would cause more than a 30-minute backup.
To sign up, go to https://service.govdelivery.com/accounts/WADOT/subscriber/new. Select “SMS/Text Message,” enter your cellphone number, confirm your number and enter an optional password, and select the “I-90 Snoqualmie Pass Travel Alerts” topic.
Or just text “wsdot snoqualmie” to 468311. To unsubscribe, text the same number with “wsdot stop.”
