STANWOOD — Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office deputies broke up a large party near Stanwood early Sunday. Five people were arrested for allegedly interfering with deputies trying to check on the condition of a passed-out partygoer.

Deputies reported finding between 150 and 200 partygoers — mostly kids — when they arrived, said Lt. Keith Rogers, a spokesman with the sheriff’s office.

The party was at a house east of Stanwood in the 28000 block of 28th Avenue Northwest.

When deputies tried to check on the unconscious partygoer, several people “physically grabbed” them, Rogers said.

Firefighters also responded to the scene.

The passed-out kid was treated and later released to the child’s parents, Rogers said.

Four people were booked into county jail as adults. One was booked into Denney Youth Center as a minor.
