Everett High senior receives NAACP’s Walthall Award

The Snohomish County Branch of National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) recently awarded Trayana Rogers, a senior at Everett High School, the honor of the Shirley Walthall Youth Achievement Award.
Rogers is a stellar student who balances academics, extracurricular activities and volunteer work. She is a student leader and an athlete, a TORCH Honor Society executive committee member, and chairperson for the Special Needs Dance.
The award is named for Shirley Walthall, the first African American teacher in the Everett School District.
