Archbishop Murphy High School prevailed over Windward High School out of Ferndale at the Snohomish County District Championship Trial, held Feb. 28 at Snohomish County Superior Court.
The first-ever championship round capped a weeklong series of district-level contests in the annual YMCA High School Mock Trial Competition. This year’s fictional case, “Otto Blotto,” involves a manslaughter charge against a Google-like company that was testing a self-driving car.
The Archbishop varsity team, along with teams from Windward, King’s Schools and Jackson High School, now advance to a state competition, set for March 24-26 in Olympia.
Other teams that competed in the district-level contests included Archbishop Murphy’s junior varsity team and teams from Bothell, Ingraham, Marysville and Meridian high schools.
