Stanwood Middle School has a new wood shop, thanks to voters who passed a capital levy that provided $120,000 toward the project, including $30,000 worth of new tools.

In addition, several businesses and individuals donated their time or money to the project, including CL Brown Construction, Amy Schmitt, Bob and Myrna Nielsen, E & E Lumber, Cascade Lumber, JT & T Construction, Tod Klundt and Cherae Almanza.

“The students have been enjoying the new wood shop,” said teacher Lara Brown, adding she is also grateful to district staff, voters and the contractors who completed the work.
