Splash pad open
The Rotary Centennial Water Playground at Everett’s Forest Park, 802 E. Mukilteo Blvd., is now open. The splash pad will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily through Sept. 24.
Plant flags: Local Scouts will help place flags on military graves at 10 a.m. Saturday at Floral Hills Cemetery, 409 Filbert Road, Lynnwood. Volunteers are welcome to help.
Genealogy group’s summer hours: Sno-Isle Genealogical Society opens for “Sundays in the Park” starting this weekend. The Society will be open 12 to 4 p.m. Sundays through Sept. 3 at Lynnwood’s Heritage Park, 19827 Poplar Way. Get help with family history in the 100-year-old home that serves as a research library. Shredding: Windermere Real Estate and WSU Waste Wise hold a community Shred-A-Thon, 10 a.m. to noon or until the truck is full on Saturday at 1283 Elger Bay Road. Suggested donation is $5 per bag or banker’s box, or $10 per oversized bag or box.
Alzheimer’s support: An Alzheimer’s Support Group meets 10:30 a.m. to noon fourth Saturdays at Smokey Point Community Church, 17721 Smokey Point Blvd. More info: Lou Ann, 360-722-1471
Chicken dinner: A family chicken dinner is served 12-2 p.m. Sunday at the Stillaguamish Senior Center, 18308 Smokey Point Blvd., Arlington. Enjoy roasted chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy and more for $9, $8 seniors, $5 children younger than 12. Proceeds benefit senior center programs.
