The South Everett-Mukilteo Rotary Club recently named its Students of the Month for April and May.

Mitchell Hovis, of Kamiak High School, is an AP Scholar with Honors and top swimmer. He plans to major in animal science at the University of Wyoming.

Mengwei Chen, also of Kamiak, is founder and president of the Kamiak Chinese Club and involved in various other business and volunteer groups. She was the Taiping Association’s Student of the Year and helps write and edit for the local Chinese news service Seattlebin.com.

Cayden Herbert, of Mariner High School, was homecoming king and has received Excellence in Citizenship and Sportsmanship awards. He is a student leader and active in many clubs and causes. He plans to study communications at Central Washington University.

Faisal Thalib attends ACES High School as well as Sno-Isle Tech’s fire service technology program. He aims to find a job after graduation.

Gracie Smith, also of ACES, plays soccer and enjoys working on her truck. She has gone on mission trips to Mexico each summer and helps her dad on his tour bus to Yellowstone National Park and other locales. She plans to attend Everett Community College.

Sierra Heath graduated from ACES High School in January. She works nights now cleaning and maintaining apartments. She dreams of becoming a veterinary technician.

The Rotary also honored Katie Woods, of Mariner High School, and Jacob Elenbaas, of Cascade High School.
