New frog sculpture needs moniker

The Arlington Arts Council commissioned and donated the new granite frog sculpture located at Haller Park. The artist is George Pratt, from British Columbia. Now, the frog needs a name. Write in your suggestions by June 28 at tinyurl.com/FrogName. The winning name will be announced July 4.

MEETING

County Council moves place, time

The Snohomish County Council plans to move the place and time of its regular Monday meeting, in keeping with a charter amendment that voters passed in November. The meeting is planned for 6 p.m. at the Jefferson Elementary School cafeteria, 2500 Cadet Way, Everett 98208.

District 5, represented by Councilman Sam Low, covers east Snohomish County, including Lake Stevens and the U.S. 2 corridor. The council, which typically meets during the day in downtown Everett, had conducted other evening meetings this year in Edmonds, Mill Creek and Marysville.

Get fit at Challenge Day in Marysville

Kids and parents can learn about fitness, nutrition, gardening and recreation opportunities at Marysville’s Healthy Communities Challenge Day, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 3 at Allen Creek Elementary School, 6505 60th Drive NE. There will be vendors, fitness demonstrations, entertainment, arts and crafts, health checks, seed planting, giveaways and more.

Learn about apprenticeship programs at “Entry to Apprenticeship,” 6 p.m. June 5 at the Stanwood Library, 9701 271st St. NW.
