Lake Stevens woman killed in collision on Whidbey Island

CLINTON — A Lake Stevens woman was killed Monday in a crash on Whidbey Island.
It happened just before 10:30 p.m. along Bailey Road in the Clinton area.
The woman was riding a Vespa scooter when she was struck by an allegedly impaired driver in a Honda Civic. The woman was identified Tuesday by the Washington State Patrol as Diane Sturlaugson, 69.
The other driver, a 30-year-old Clinton man, allegedly crossed the center line. He was booked into the Island County Jail on suspicion of DUI and vehicular homicide.
