Body spotted in Skykomish River downstream of Sunset Falls

INDEX — Search and rescue crews converged on the Skykomish River on Tuesday evening after a body was spotted floating downstream from where a woman disappeared June 28.

The body was spotted downstream of Sunset Falls. That’s where a Texas woman, 25, apparently slipped from a rock and into the current while visiting the area with family.

Recovering the body was expected to take hours, said Shari Ireton, a spokeswoman with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
