Sustainability Fair at McCollum
The Adopt A Stream Foundation’s Northwest Stream Center holds a Sustainability Fair, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The center is located at McCollum Park, 600 128th St. SE, Everett. Admission is free.
Enjoy live music as you fill a “Sustainability Passport” at learning stations with a chance to win prizes. Cafe Zippy will offer meals for sale. You also can win some doggy bags in the “dog poop” toss game put on by Snohomish County Surface Water Management.

Bazaar to benefit Alzheimer’s research
A Summer Bazaar to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Vineyard Park, a senior assisted living and memory care center at 23008 56th Ave. W, Mountlake Terrace.
Funds will go to the 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s Snohomish County event, which is set for Sept. 30 at Boxcar Park on Everett’s waterfront.

See the sun, up close
See the sun in three wavelengths — full spectrum, hydrogen-alpha and calcium-K — at a multigenerational program being held at local libraries. See prominences, filaments and UV emissions. Use spectroscopes and explore other topics in solar science.

This is presented by the Charlie Bates Solar Astronomy Project, New Mexico Chapter.
It’s one of many sun-related events at Sno-Isle Libraries branches ahead of the first coast-to-coast total solar eclipse to hit the continental U.S. in 99 years on Aug. 21.

Workshop for the laid-off
A “Laid Off, Ramp Up!” workshop is set for 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W. Whether you were just laid off, been out of work a while or working in a job that is a dead end, this workshop will give you tools to talk to prospective employers with confidence.
