Rhonda Marquardt, a math teacher at Mariner High School, was selected as a Global Educator Fellow. She was one of 77 teachers chosen nationwide by the U.S. State Department for the 2017-18 school year.
The program, funded by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, requires 10 weeks of intensive professional development surrounding the issues of global competence and education. After training, Marquardt will be invited to attend a global education symposium in Washington D.C., and then participate in an international educational trip with her cohort during the summer of 2018.
