Caleb McAuslan is making a good first impression on the college soccer world.
The Archbishop Murphy High School graduate, who now plays at Cornell University, was named the Ivy League Men’s Soccer Rookie of the Week for the week of Sept. 25-Oct. 1.
McAuslan played a critical role in the outcome of the Big Red’s two games that week. First, the freshman midfielder set up the game-winning goal in Cornell’s 3-2 victory over Binghampton on Sept. 26. He then scored the tying goal in the Big Red’s 1-1 draw with Penn in the team’s Ivy League opener Sept. 30.
McAuslan has played in all 12 of Cornell’s games so far this season, starting nine of them. For the season, he has two goals and one assist.
