St. Thomas More Parish School in Lynnwood celebrated Catholic Schools Week, Jan. 28-Feb. 2.

Catholic Schools Week is a tradition started in 1974. It celebrates the nearly 6,500 Catholic schools in the United States and their 1.9 million students and 150,000 teachers. This year’s theme was “Catholic Schools: Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed.”

Students and staff at St. Thomas More celebrated with a Western theme throughout the week. Events included a Wild West Book Fair, an open house and costume-filled Spirit Days. Students delivered flowers to neighbors, took part in a Santo Nino procession to celebrate the infant Jesus, and honored parents and teachers. There was a Catholic Olympics, with the classes competing in games of knowledge and sports. And the week wrapped up with a Power of One anti-bullying assembly.
