Bicyclist suffers critical injuries in crash

SNOHOMISH — A bicyclist suffered critical injuries in a crash Thursday east of Snohomish, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The cyclist was riding on 88th Street SE when he was struck around 3:30 p.m. by a white pickup truck near U.S. 2, said trooper Heather Axtman, who happened to be in the area. Axtman responded to the scene. She said the cyclist was not wearing a helmet, and suffered critical injuries to his head.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies were investigating the cause of the crash.
