Science Fair winners join Team Washington

The Washington State Science and Engineering Fair was held March 23-24 in Bremerton.
Dhruvik Parikh, Jackson High School, won a Bronze Medallion for his research on “A Novel Sol-Gel Derived SPEEK/SiO2 Composite Membrane for the Vanadium Redox Flow Battery.”
Sriharshita “Harshu” Musunuri, Jackson High School, was an International Science and Engineering Fair Finalist for “A Theranostic Solution to Gram-Negative Sepsis.” Parikh also was a finalist.
Both students are now part of Team Washington, who will represent the state at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair, the world’s largest pre-college science competition, to be held May 13-18 in Pittsburgh.
Also at the state competition, Sultan Middle School and Mountlake Terrace High School were honored with School of the Year awards.
