BELLEVUE — Police believe a Monroe-area teen overdosed at a Bellevue house last month.
The girl, 17, was found unresponsive around 7:40 p.m. April 18. She was in the back yard of a house in the 600 block of 153rd Avenue NE, according to Bellevue police. Aid crews tried to revive her. She died at the scene.
The girl had been staying at the property for a matter of days, Bellevue police officer Seth Tyler said. Others in the house were interviewed by law enforcement. Tyler said Wednesday it appeared she had overdosed.
At first, officers considered the death to be suspicious. They noted there were no obvious signs of trauma, and that there appeared to be no risk to the public. Detectives are awaiting the results of toxicology tests.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office investigation was ongoing Wednesday.
