The Rotary Club of Everett Port Gardner has performed community service projects in the city for 30 years. On April 28, volunteers gathered at Legion Bluff Park to install a wheelchair-accessible path. The big job completed a two-year effort that also involved volunteers from other Rotary clubs and a grant from Rotary International. About 60 volunteers gathered to rake, dig and haul yard upon yard of gravel. One volunteer alone pushed 38 wheelbarrow loads. The group also installed a park bench near the park’s disabled parking stall at the suggestion of a local resident.
