Elementary and high school students in the Edmonds School District teamed up with the King Arthur Flour Company to learn about and bake yeast bread to benefit local food banks. Over 600 loaves of bread were donated through the “Bake for Good: Kids” program to the Lynnwood Food Bank, Edmonds Food Bank, Edmonds Westgate Chapel Food Bank, Bethel Chapel Food Bank in Mountlake Terrace, and Annie’s Kitchen at Edmonds Lutheran Church.

The loaves of bread were mostly baked at home from kits assembled by Meadowdale High School “Chef” class students, who also baked bread in class. The project was organized and directed by Meadowdale High culinary teacher Kolleen Seals.
