Cans to coins: Preschoolers give food bank program a boost

A classroom lesson about recycling led to an aluminum can collection among families in the Marysville School District’s Early Childhood Education Assistance Program (ECEAP). The preschool families collected enough cans to donate $70 to the Marysville Community Food Bank Food for Thought program, which provides backpacks full of snacks and meals for students from low-income households to take home on weekends.
“Many of our families benefit from the work of the Marysville Community Food Bank, and this important program,” said Joann Moffitt, program manager of Marysville ECEAP. “They wanted to show how much they care about these services by giving back to the programs that help support them.”
