Scholarships carry on baseball star’s memory

The Joey Dettrich Baseball Foundation has awarded $1,500 scholarships to 2018 graduates Sara Johnson (softball) and Conor Bardue (baseball), from Lake Stevens High School; Trever Kazen (baseball), from Arlington High School; and Eric Anderson (baseball) and Katie Barrett (softball), from the Marysville School District.

Joey Dettrich played for Arlington High School and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in 2007. Dettrich died a car crash in 2013.
