U.S. Coast Guard Ensign Megan Rice has graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy with a bachelor of naval architecture and marine engineering and a commission as an ensign. Rice will be stationed on the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Polar Star, the nation’s only heavy icebreaker, which is stationed in Seattle. Rice is the daughter of Melanie English, of Lake Stevens, and is a 2011 graduate of Snohomish High School.
