Two Stanwood men die after truck hits tree near Concrete

CONCRETE — Two Stanwood men died after their struck hit a tree Tuesday afternoon.

John Gore, 74, was driving the Ford Ranger on Baker Lake Road. He and his passenger were in the southbound lane when it drifted across the northbound lane, then hit the tree. Both he and his 65-year-old passenger were dead at the scene about 2.5 miles northwest of Concrete. The passenger was not identified by the Washington State Patrol pending notification of the man’s family.

The cause is under investigation by the State Patrol. Both men reportedly were wearing their seat belts.
