Local students earned medals in FCCLA Star Events at the 2018 National Leadership Conference, held June 26 to July 3 in Atlanta. FCCLA stands for Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. More than 7,500 people attended the conference.

There were 30 family and consumer science-related competitive events.

Jackson High School: Jenna Kim and Sai Raksha Rayala (gold, Entrepreneurship)

Lake Stevens High School: Maleah Plank (gold, Career Investigation); Harley Kayser and Courtnay Yelm (gold, Chapter in Review Portfolio); Taylor Garcia and Kylea Shepard (gold, Promote and Publicize FCCLA); Emma Hoggatt (silver, Early Childhood Education)

Snohomish High School: Araceli Daza (silver, Leadership)

Stanwood High School: Hope Fey, Brandon Thomas and Aris VanSlageren (bronze, Culinary Arts)
