Naval Station Everett on Aug. 21 presented Bianca Brightwell with a $2,500 savings bond for maintaining straight-A’s. The Navy Exchange’s A-OK Student Reward Program encourages the children of active duty, reservist and military retirees to maintain good grades by offering drawings and discounts for eligible students. Bianca’s father, Bill Brightwell, retired from the U.S. Navy after 27 years of active duty service.

Bianca will start her sophomore year at Lake Stevens High School this fall.
