A fire in a 60-by-60-foot building flooded the sky with smoke Monday evening northwest of Snohomish. Freelance photographer Doug Ramsey captured the spectacle and shared his images with The Herald. A lack of fire hydrants and many cars and spectators along a dead-end road hampered efforts to control the flames. The building in the 4900 block of Fobes Road, stocked with nursery supplies, caught fire around 6 p.m., according to Snohomish County Fire District 4. Crews from three other fire districts responded to help. The fire was extinguished hours later.
