Julie Boyd, of Whidbey Island, rose to the top of a pool of 75 photographers who together submitted 300 photos to the Whidbey Camano Land Trust’s annual outdoor photo contest. Boyd’s scenic photo from south Whidbey Island was picked for the cover of the conservation-focused nonprofit’s 2019 calendar. In all, 25 photos were selected for the calendar. Other images include Bruiser the elk and a scenic lavender field.

Calendars are being sold at participating retail outlets in Island County. Camano Island locations include the Camano Island Marketplace at Terry’s Corner, Elger Bay Grocery and Tyee Store. The calendars also are sold in Stanwood, at Island Floral and Skagit Farmers Supply. Calendars also are sold online for $15 plus shipping.
