The Prince George Cougars visit Everett on Saturday, the final of four regalar season matchups between the two squads. The Silvertips have been dominant against the Cougars this season, winning the three previous contests by a combined score of 18-3.

Trend

Prince George was on a nasty losing streak, having lost its last 17 games and 13-of-17 in regulation, but Prince George ended the slump with a 2-1 shootout win over Kamloops last night.

The Cougars fired head coach Richard Matvichuk after the 11th consecutive loss, and general manager Mark Lamb took over as head coach on an interim basis.

Forward to watch — Vladislav Mikhalchuk

The 19-year-old import winger leads the Cougars leads the team with 43 points (21 goals and 22 assists), nine more than Cole Moberg.

Defenseman to watch — Ryan Schoettler

The Lloydminster, Alberta native is one of the better puckmovers on the Cougars’ blueline, with a team-high 25 assists.

Taylor Gauthier has been the Cougars’ workhorse this season, with a 3.08 goals against average in 46 games, both of which are team highs. Isaiah DiLaura has been a servicable backup, with a 3.42 goals against average in 19 games.
