Driver who drove off U.S. 2, crashed, died of natural causes

SULTAN — A Bothell man died Sunday night when he crashed his vehicle into multiple others in a parking lot, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

Thomas G. Barnes, 63, drove off the highway and careened into the lot around 6:40 p.m. near 11th Street and U.S. 2 in Sultan, the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said.

Barnes died of natural causes, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office determined.

The collision is under investigation.
