Slain Edmonds 7-Eleven clerk identified; suspect at large

EDMONDS — An Edmonds man who was shot and killed at a 7-Eleven Friday morning has been identified.
Nagendiram Kandasamy, 64, was working at the store at 8101 238th Street SW when a man came in, jumped on the counter and fired a gun, Edmonds police say.
A customer found the clerk on the floor around 5 a.m. Friday, unresponsive and bleeding. The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that Kandasamy died from a gunshot wound.
Agencies from across Snohomish and King counties, as well as the Washington State Patrol, searched the area Friday morning but couldn’t find a suspect. The shooter remains at large and police are still asking the public for help, Edmonds Sgt. Josh McClure said.
In an attempt to identify a suspect, police released a still image and four seconds of video from security footage. The man is described as a white man in his 20s and was seen wearing black shoes, black pants and a red-and-black jacket. His hood is up and he appears to be wearing something over his face.
Police also released an image of a light-colored car that was seen in the area around the time of the homicide, though they couldn’t confirm the vehicle’s year, make or model — or whether the vehicle was involved in the incident.
