The readers thought the Gonzaga men’s basketball team was in for a lengthy run.

The NCAA basketball tournaments were casualties of the efforts to slow the spread of coronavirus, as they were all canceled. The Gonzaga men’s team was set to be the lone representative from Washington in the Division I men’s tournament, but the Bulldogs were in line for a top seed.

Therefore, this week’s Seattle Sidelines poll asked readers how far they thought the Zags were going to go in the tournament. Here’s how you voted:

Add the two together and nearly two-thirds of the voters thought Gonzaga was going at least as far as the Final Four. Indeed, the greatest number of voters — 42% — said the Bulldogs would reach the Final Four, while another 23% thought the Zags were going to win the national championship. There were 25% of the responders who had Gonzaga reaching the Sweet 16, while 10 percent predicted the Bulldogs to lose in the first two rounds.

On a side note, we may have seen Corey Kispert’s final college game. The King’s High School graduate and Edmonds native, a junior small forward who was Gonzaga’s No. 2 scorer, is considering entering the NBA draft.
