1 dead, 1 injured after crash into tree north of Stanwood

STANWOOD — A woman died and a man was seriously injured in a crash north of Stanwood Friday afternoon, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

They reportedly lost control of their vehicle around 3:40 p.m. and struck a tree in the 29200 block of 80th Avenue Northwest. The woman died at the scene. The man was transported by aid with life-threatening injuries. His condition was unknown Friday evening.

Detectives with the sheriff’s Collision Investigation Unit were investigating.
