Snohomish woman identified after deadly motorcycle crash

STANWOOD — A Snohomish woman died in a motorcycle crash Monday afternoon near Stanwood, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
Kathy Askew, 61, had been out riding with friends all afternoon when she lost control and crashed around 4:20 p.m. on Pioneer Highway, authorities said.
Askew died at the scene of blunt-force injuries, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Sheriff’s deputies don’t believe speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. Initially, it was reported the deceased rider was in her 50s.
