Rotary Club of Edmonds thanks Edmonds Hero Ace Hardware for donation

The Rotary Club of Edmonds recently thanked Chris Kyser, director of Edmonds Hero Ace Hardware, for the store’s donation to the club.

Hero Ace hosted a Round-Up Campaign in February that raised $2,242 to benefit the Edmonds Rotary. The donation will support scholarships for Edmonds high school seniors and the Rotary Club’s international service projects.

McClain Insurance Services donates $10,000 to Everett’s Cocoon House

Everett’s Cocoon House, an organization dedicated to breaking cycles of homelessness through community support, was awarded a $10,000 donation from Everett’s McClain Insurance Services.

The donation will help the house support teens residing in their long-term and short-term housing, providing 100 days of meals to 20 teens.

Arlington Garden Club to offer scholarship for a local high school senior

The Arlington Garden Club will be awarding their $2,500 annual scholarship to a Class of 2021 graduating high school senior. Candidates must be graduates of Arlington, Darrington, Lakewood, Lake Stevens, Marysville Pilchuck or Stanwood high schools.

The candidate’s declared field of study must be at a Washington State accredited university or college in the fields in horticulture, agriculture, forestry, husbandry or environmental science.

The application deadline is May 1. More information can be found on the club’s website at arlingtongardenclub.org.

Everett Elks Lodge creates welcome home kits for veterans

In the past year, the Everett Elks lodge has provided 15 newly-homed veterans with welcome home kits of household goods.

Each kit is valued at $400. They will continue to provide these goods to previous homeless veterans.
