Overnight work to close 220th Street SW and southbound I-5

EDMONDS — If you’re accustomed to driving 200th Street SW near I-5, or use the southbound lanes of the freeway there, you might need to find another route in coming nights.
First, contractors building the light rail line to Lynnwood need to close a section of 200th overnight Wednesday and Thursday. They plan to repair the road, which will be closed from midnight to 5 a.m.
Then starting at 11 p.m. Saturday, crews will close the southbound lanes of I-5 from 220th to Highway 104 to work on the light rail line where it crosses the freeway. The closure will allow workers to pour concrete for the future elevated light rail guideway over I-5.
That work will be along the southbound shoulders and in the center median near the Mountlake Terrace station.
A detour will take motorists to Highway 99 and Highway 104 before returning them to I-5.
The freeway lanes are expected to reopen around 7:30 a.m. Sunday.
Northbound traffic will unaffected.
