EVERETT — A Marysville man drowned Sunday after he crashed his car into a motorcycle on I-5 in Everett.
Scott Baker, 56, was identified Wednesday by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Shortly before 4 p.m., he was driving a Chevrolet Malibu south at a “high rate of speed” when he was between lanes and rear-ended the motorcycle, knocking the driver off the motorcycle and into the brush along the right shoulder, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Baker’s car went off the highway, rolled into two other vehicles and landed on the embankment. Baker was ejected from the car into a water-filled ditch and died, the medical examiner’s office said Wednesday.
The medical examiner confirmed Baker died from drowning.
The motorcycle rider, 64, of Marysville, was taken to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for treatment.
