MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Drivers going north on I-5 through Mountlake Terrace will have to take a detour starting late night Friday until early Saturday morning.

Work on the Lynnwood light rail expansion requires the overnight closure of the northbound I-5 lanes between Highway 104 and 220th Street SW starting around midnight until 5 a.m. A detour will take drivers to Highway 99 and Highway 104, then back to I-5.

The freeway station at Mountlake Terrace Transit Center also is to close.

Southbound lanes will be open.

Crews plan to do a large concrete pour for the guideway over the interstate.
